The word “legendary” is applied loosely to too many bands
But “The Lincolns” of Truro have earned it.
From their start in the early 1960s through reunions from the late 70s onward, their explosive brand of R&B and soul moved Maritimers onto the dance floor and set a new standard for live shows.
AJB (Jay) Johnston’s “Kings of Friday Night: The Lincolns” reveals the musicians’ stories – both personal and from road trips on the Maritime circuit – with warmth and the appreciation of a fan reflecting on the lasting effect the band has had on a generation.
