Full Circle

It’s funny sometimes how things work out.

When I started out as a historian with Parks Canada — that was not long after the end of the last Ice Age — I was assigned to work on the Tides of History exhibit at the Halifax Citadel.

Well, last week I was asked to work on the new exhibit that is to replace the Tides of History after it had a very long run. I’m sure I’m not the first to work on something the second time around — 40 years later in this case — but it probably doesn’t happen all that often. Maybe it’s the granola Mary makes that keeps a fellow young!

The last time I worked on an exhibit to go in that Citadel space I was recruited away to the Fortress of Louisbourg. Hey Fortress — anything I can do for you in the near future?
