Wendy Bergfeldt, host of CBC Mainstreet Cape Breton informs me that the conversation we taped yesterday is to be broadcast today (Sept. 10, 2015) across Cape Breton Island. We talk at length about the Thomas Pichon Novels project: where it came from and some of the angles she was especially interested in. I thought it was a great talk, maybe fifteen minutes or so.It was fun to speak with someone who had read the books and was well prepared.
I’ll post a link here on this site to the interview after it has aired and been posted on the CBC web site.

I am soon off to Québec to talk about the Récollets of Louisbourg at a conference being held to mark the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the Franciscans in Canada.
Je serai bientôt à Québec pour parler au sujet des Récollets de Louisbourg à un colloque qui marque le 400e anniversaire de l’arrivée au Canada des Franciscans.

In early June, people in three Nova Scotia communities — Liverpool, Lunenburg and Wolfville — will have opportunities to hear authors nominated for East Coast Literary Awards read from their short-listed books. No doubt, there will also be time to talk to them, and maybe buy a book or two. It will be a chance to encourage and appreciate how much writing talent there is on Canada’s East Coast. For the where and when, and who, please follow the link below.
